Why is Louis Vuitton so expensive

Are you wondering why is Louis Vuitton so expensive? Read on as I explain why authentic Louis Vuitton is expensive, causing many women to turn to Louis Vuitton replica.

Before I got into college, I was confused about why people [celebrities and fashion lovers alike] would spend so much on an LV bag with just a logo or monogram on it.

Funny enough, I even asked myself if paying so much would change what I’d need the bag for.

I grew up and became better enlightened. I even started shelling big bucks on the brand too.

So, why is the so much sought-after Louis Vuitton brand so expensive that made many people turned to fake cheap Louis Vuitton bags?

Here are the reasons why Louis Vuitton is so expensive…

So Why Is Louis Vuitton So Expensive?

1. Their History.

This brand has been around for over 160 years with its humble beginnings starting in France. You can see now that the LV brand has truly stood the test of time.

It’s recorded that Napoleon 3 was looking for who could control Empress Eugene’s totes in the 19th century. This had led him to discover Louis Vuitton, who was an expert in making luxury luggage for the elite.

In 1854, Louis Vuitton opened his first store and later broke into the market by producing airtight, flat luggage that was easy to stack in 1858.

Four years after he died in 1892, his son [George Vuitton] invented the iconic LV logo/monogram, that we now know as the floral pattern with the interlocking L and V, in his honor.

Today, you’ll find this well-known monogram on all of LV’s products.

So, you can see now that owning a Louis Vuitton accessory will always be seen as a status symbol especially when you start tracing the brand from the celebrities today back to the French royals in the 1800s.

2. Their Materials and Craftsmanship.

All authentic handbags from Louis Vuitton are made by hand that would need about a week to complete [for each bag]. This counts for its durability as you won’t need to be afraid of having a torn or ripped bag. The stitches on all authentic LV handbags are clean. The makers do their best to pay close attention to details on each stitch.

The materials used are water-resistant [a feature of the canvas used] and also fire-resistant [PVC is used in their canvas to achieve this]. This is one quality that you won’t come across easily in other handbags. In my opinion, having this quality alone is enough for any brand to place high-end tags on their products.

However, there have been an increase in Louis Vuitton handbags replica that are using the same materials as the authentic ones.

3. Timeless Products.

If you decide to get an LV bag today, it’s sure to last you about 10 years or maybe even more. Also, it won’t go out of style. The brand name alone is one of the most prestigious in the world.

Don’t be surprised if you come across someone rocking an LV bag that was made in the 1980s. You’d be able to see how good the bag still looks.

Interestingly, a Louis Vuitton bag, that was made many years ago, is usually worth more than its original price when you decide to have it resold.

To keep their exclusivity intact, unsold LV products are sent back to the factory to be shredded or burnt.

So, the next time you want to question why is Louis Vuitton so expensive, you’d already know why.
